]The Paradiso Tower was going to be a magnificent structure within San Bernardino and is now considered one of if not the tallest building in the Redlands . Constructed out of the finest materials, the fifty-stories of luxury apartments would have been -the- place to live within the city. When The Fall happened, all construction was halted, obviously, and several of the top stories were left incomplete.
Many of the mid-range floors were mostly complete except for the skin of glass which was supposed to enclose the ample living rooms areas. The lower floors with the large, open lobby, were complete and survived the ravages of the Fall and the reconstruction mostly intact.
The tower quickly became home to squatters attempting to get up and away from the dangers on the streets of the ruined city. By blocking up the main exits with heavy equipment and such, they were able to create a haven for themselves.
The tower quickly became the base for the largest community within the Redlands. Many of the levels (along the exterior) have been converted into farming areas so that they can grow their own food.
